Camping, Hiking, and Cleaning: Oh My!

With fall coming into full swing, there is so many new opportunities in the area that need your help to make a difference in! It starts small like racking leaves in local neighborhoods or parks, doing local tuck or treats for kids, helping set up festivals, or even just picking up trash around the area. Sheboygan County is blessed to have a local state park called the Kettle Moraine State Forest and it is more than 22,000 acres of forested glacial hills that was created from the glaciers from 20,000 years ago. They have many hiking trails, camping spots, and many lakes for activities that are separated with a northern and southern camping area. Our first mission this season is cleaning up this beautiful state park from a crazy summer!
We are looking for a group of volunteers that would like to join our team for fall camping
trip that includes cleaning up the trails, lakes, and campsites as well as traditional camping and being able to see the beauty within the Kettle Moraine. We will be hiking and cleaning up the northern unit which includes Mauthe Lake and Long Lake and the surrounding trails. Rain or shine: we will be working this project so be prepared to dress warm, extra clothes, rain boots, hiking gear, food, and a lot of water for the weekend! There is shower house and drinking fountains onsite for our use.
