Since Wisconsin is everywhere with the weather, there is many different types of drives that happen year round. One way you can volunteer is donating food to local shelters, participate in clothes/shoes/jacket drives, pet drives, or you can even start those up yourself to donate to a local shelter or foster system! These small volunteering events happen at almost any store in town or in a local business, just ask around or check out flyers posted in stores.
Another way to volunteer in your area is going online and looking at your county's volunteer section of their website or Googling "volunteer opportunities in _____". When I did that for Sheboygan, it actually gave me a business in town that has a list of volunteer options that range from tutors, working in hospitals/fire departments/call centers to help walk-in patients or help answer the phones., to being a dog walker. There is many things to check out and if there isn't anything that catches your eye, there is a contact number to see if they do have anything that goes with your interests. Remember to volunteer at something you are interested in and follow the top five tips of volunteering that we talked about two weeks ago.
